Vote for Values......2008

This morning on my way home from work I was the 649 person to vote in my precinct in Kendall County Illinois. Hehe. I know that is alot more than needed information, but I feel pretty cool. I saw a sign at the local gas station that said Vote for Values. I think that sums it up pretty well for me. I am an education woman, but I don't speak well, or write well. Heck, try as I might I may not know all there is to know about politics. But I felt so proud walking to to vote today. Win or lose, I know I did the right thing. As a school bus driver I have had lots of questions from students about who I was going to vote for, and I never tell them. I just let them guess (even though I am wearing a red white and blue elephant jibbit in my crocs). I have had to experiences I want to share. One happened this morning. After the kids asked me who I was going to vote for I took a poll and asked them. First I said Obama, then I said McCain. When the McCain students raised their hands a black students said to them, "Stupid White People." I has so angry. A few weeks ago I had a third grade student tell me he was going to "Vote for Barack Obama because he feels that black people should have the right to be president." All I can say is what the heck are they teaching these kids in school!!! So that was totally off the subject, but I am proud to be an American, and I am proud that I exercised my right to vote today. And, Katie is great full because she was with me, and all the kids that came with their parents got candy!!! Here is to the future.

There seems to be a lot of that behavior going around. The stories my friend in FL has told me since Tues are out of control. Both ways.

Don't stay away too long stranger!
Saturday I'm trying to have a scrap night. Join us if you can.
