Life's a Beach

I never went on many family vactions as a child, but a few times we did head to the Rocky Mountains and I adore them. I am such an outdoor person, I love it. However, these are not my favorite vactions. For me my favorites were the two opportunities I had to head to the beach with family. They were not exotic beaches, or super expensive mainland America beaches either. They were Jekyll Island, GA and Gulf Shore, Al. From these two encounters I have found myself to understand, I AM A BEACH LOVER. I cried the first time I left, I was 26!! There is something about the water that fills my soul, and makes me such a happy person. That is where I feel most at home, so being at the beach lets me soak that all in. So I need to add my second favorite vacation?? White water rafting on the New River in West Virgina. I need to do that again someday. I would actually like to be a river guide.....

do you enjoy lake beaches as well? I really enjoyed the beaches on Lake Michigan when we lived there. California has beautiful beaches, including lake beaches; Folsom Lake, Lake Tahoe, Lake Powell has beautiful red-sandy beaches. I almost prefer lake beaches to ocean beaches--it depends I guess.

How is your dad? How is Braeden's leg?

Amen to the beach! I am right there with ya girl. To me, being at the beach (preferably the ocean) is just a little piece of heaven on earth. (Now if I can just convince my hubby to move us there!!)
